His breakthrough song “Low” from 2008 spent ten weeks at the top of the US charts and broke the sales record for digital downloads at its release. 2008’s Mail on Sunday, Flo Rida’s first studio album, peaked at number four in the US. The following year, R.O.O.T.S followed the album. His later albums, Only One Flo (Part 1) from 2010 and Wild Ones from 2012, made the US Billboard 200 chart. With over 80 million records sold globally, Flo Rida is one of the most successful musicians. The international hits “Right Round,” “Club Can’t Handle Me,” “Good Feeling,” “Wild Ones,” “Whistle,” “I Cry,” “G.D.F.R.” and “My House” are among his songs in his discography.

Mail on Sunday, Flo Rida’s debut album, was released in March 2008. The first song, “Low,” featuring T-Pain, was also used on the Step Up 2: The Streets soundtrack. On the Billboard Hot 100 chart, “Low” rose to the top spot. Timbaland’s “Elevator,” Will.i.am’s “In the Ayer” and Sean Kingston’s “Roll” came next and made the Hot 100 and other charts.

There were other prominent guests on Mail on Sunday in addition to T-Pain. The second single, “Elevator,” was produced by Timbaland, a featured artist on the song. Trey Songz and Rick Ross also made an appearance. Sean Kingston participated in the J. R. Due to the impending release of Flo Rida’s second studio album, R.O.O.T.S’s fourth single, “Money Right,” featuring Brisco and Rick Ross, was scrapped. Although they were recorded, his second collaborations with T-Pain, “I Bet,” and Trina, “Bout It,” did not make the album’s final tracklist.

Flo Rida made guest appearances on other R&B, rap, and pop singles after the success of Mail on Sunday, including “Move Shake Drop” by DJ Laz, “We Break the Dawn” by Michelle Williams, the remix of “4 Minutes” by Madonna, “Running Back” by Australian R&B singer Jessica Mauboy, “Feel It” by DJ Felli Fel and the remix of “Speedin'” by Rick Ross. He gave live performances throughout the summer of 2008 on “So You Think You Can Dance,” a Fox dance competition program, in the US and at the 2008 MuchMusic Video Awards, a Canadian event. He also appeared on the albums Gutta by Ace Hood, The Fame by Lady Gaga, and We Global by DJ Khaled.

Nine months after Mail On Sunday, Flo Rida started work on his second album, R.O.O.T.S. The record was made available on March 31, 2009. In January 2009, the first song, “Right Round,” starring Ke$ha, was available for radio play. During one week in late February, “Right Round” shot up the charts from position 58 to first. With 636,000 downloads in one week, the song shattered his record for the most digital downloads in the US, which he had previously accomplished with “Low.” Dead or Alive’s 1985 smash “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)” was sampled in the song “Right Round.” In “Sugar,” the second official single, R&B artist Wynter Gordon was featured.

On the Billboard Hot 100, the song peaked at No. 5. The third official single, “Jump,” starring singer Nelly Furtado, was released on July 27, 2009, in the UK and July 28, 2009, worldwide. “Be on You,” featuring singer Ne-Yo, was the album’s fourth official single, released on October 6, 2009. Both songs charted in the top 100 in various countries. “Available,” featuring Akon, would be released on iTunes but was canceled. It charted at number 120 in Ireland.

Midway through 2009, a music video was also made. Eighth on the Billboard 200 list when its release, R.O.O.T.S. sold 55,000 copies in its first week. The album had sold 223,000 copies in the US and 536,000 copies globally as of August 2009. The album peaked at number eight among rap albums, with 247,000 copies sold in the US by the end of 2009. On the songs “Feel It” by DJ Felli Fel, “Starstruck” by Lady Gaga, and “Feel It” by Three 6 Mafia, Flo Rida gave cameo appearances. The first single of The X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, “Bad Boys,” featuring Flo Rida, debuted at No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart in October.

Only One Flo (Part 1), Flo Rida’s third album, was released on November 24, 2010. Flo Rida revealed the album’s name—The Only One—on Twitter in March 2010. According to Billboard, The Only One would be a double album. T-Pain is featured on a promotional single, “Zoosk Girl, ” made available online. The song isn’t on the album but has a music video. As the official first single for the album, Flo Rida’s song “Club Can’t Handle Me” with David Guetta was made available on June 28, 2010. The song was also included in the soundtrack for Step Up 3D.

On November 2, 2010, “Come with Me” and “Puzzle,” both produced and featuring Electrixx and not included on the album, were released as the album’s first promo singles. The second official album promo single for “Turn Around (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)” was available on the iTunes Store on November 16, 2010. On November 29, 2010, it debuted its Australian Singles Chart at position 34. “Who Dat Girl” debuted at number 136 on the UK Singles Chart and peaked at number 31 on the UK R&B Chart after the album’s release in the UK, thanks to a significant download increase.

On May 11, 2011, “Why You Up In Here” was made available as the third and fourth promotional singles. Git Fresh, Gucci Mane, and Ludacris all appear in the song. Additionally, Flo Rida made cameos on the songs “Out My Video” by the Bulgarian artist LiLana and “iYiYi,” performed by Australian teen singer Cody Simpson. With the help of the UK girl group “The Saturdays,” Flo Rida recorded a new version of their hit song “Higher.” Flo Rida founded International Music Group in December 2010 after being motivated by Nicki Minaj’s deal with Lil Wayne. In addition to Git Fresh, he has signed Brianna, an 18-year-old rapper, to International.

Atlantic’s dance compilation “This Is a Challenge” featured the song “Cake” by Flo Rida and Bay Area rap group 99 Percent on December 16, 2016. On February 28, 2017, the song was released to top 40 radio as Flo Rida’s next single. He stated in an interview that his fifth album is still being worked on and was 70% complete in July 2017. Another single by Flo Rida, “Hola,” featuring Maluma from Colombia, was made available on November 17, 2017. The new song “Dancer” by Flo Rida was released on March 2, 2018. In addition, Flo Rida has received various honors and awards, including Teen Choice, APRA, and People’s Choice.

Flo Rida sued Celsius, the company that makes energy drinks, in a Florida court on January 18, 2023. From 2014 to 2018, Flo Rida served as a brand ambassador for Celsius and had an endorsement agreement with them. He and his production firm, Strong Arm Productions, asserted that Celsius broke their contract and attempted to hide the funds.
