1da Banton Speaks To Dotun On Collabo Rejection From Omah Lay

There has been a notable increase in the number of talented young Nigerian vocalists in recent years, and that list spots 1da Banton among them.

He has been in the music space for years and even got something of a breakthrough when his “No Wahala” single got a remix featuring Afrobeats Queen Tiwa Savage and Superstar Kizz Daniel.

And now, Godson Ominibie Epelle, the singer’s real name, hasn’t held back his desire to record a song with Afrobeat Star Omah Lay.

For their collaboration to be stressless, 1da Banton claimed he contacted Omah Lay and delivered an audio file of the demo. However, he admitted that he had anticipated an immediate response and “green light” from the Afropop sensation but had not received one.

The “No Wahala” crooner explained their friendship by saying they have been friends since childhood in the City of Port Harcourt. Although not close friends per se, they were both based in Rivers state when they first met.

Speaking further on his efforts to establish a collaboration with Omah Lay, 1da Banton said that the “Understand” crooner had been choosing to ignore him despite his repeated follow-up texts to the pop star. As a result, he gave up trying and admitted his defeat before the listening public while speaking with Dotun, the on-air personality, in an interview with Cool FM Lagos.
