The new single, “The Life I Choose,” which was published on February 22, 2024, is the award-winning hitmaker’s first release of 2024. Adekunle Gold delivers his most street-leaning song to date on the uptempo track, produced by Kel P. It’s evocative of the production style made known by Terry G, the late 2000s and early 2010s street pop icon.
The song opens with a sample from social media celebrity DJ Chicken, setting the tone for the combination of White Garment church-style percussions and bells. Adekunle Gold then thumps his chest, declaring that he is determined to live this life to the fullest and that it is the one he picked.
