November 18 has been declared Davido’s Day by the City of Atlanta after he brought the city to a standstill with his recently held A.W.A.Y Festival. Celebrating the achievement, Davido tweeted the news along with a signed copy of the proclamation.

The highly anticipated “Are We African Yet?” Festival saw the Nigerian music sensation make waves at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, where he held his sold-out show. The event took place on Saturday, November 18, 2023, and drew fans and celebrities from Nigeria who traveled to Atlanta, Georgia to see the amazing performance.

The concert featured exciting performances from leading Afrobeats musicians including Adekunle Gold, MayorKun, Musa Keys, Spinall, Victony, King Promise, Lojay, E Cool, and TXC. In addition, the inaugural A.W.A.Y. Festival was hosted by legendary comedian Bovi.

Davido performed a thrilling set of his hit songs and ended the evening with a bang by announcing his next concert at the Madison Square Garden, another legendary indoor venue in New York City, scheduled for April 17, 2024. Designed as a one-day event, the A.W.A.Y. Festival seeks to encourage cultural exchange and cooperation between Africa and the global community.

Davido has established himself as one of the strongest links between the African music scene and the international music landscape through his years of intensive collaboration with American musicians.
