AY Speaks On His Rise To Fame, And Servitude To Ali Baba On Toke’s Podcast

Well-known comedian Ayodeji Makun, often known as AY, has disclosed how hard he fought to become prominent and has addressed some controversies surrounding his fame. He claims to have 25 years of experience in the entertainment business. Ayo “AY” Makun, comedian and filmmaker, was a guest on Toke Makinwa’s podcast program “Toke Moments” on this episode. AY and Toke talk about how social media has changed and how being in the spotlight can impact how one’s life unfolds.
He said that after graduating from Delta State University, Abraka, he started his profession as a show promoter by planning a school beauty pageant. Before heading backstage, AY stated that he had created contestants for the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant and those who represented Nigeria at Miss World. He continued by saying he was also Miss Commonwealth’s assistant pageant manager. AY recalls “pray[ing] ” to become as well-known as seasoned comic Alibaba while serving as his assistant (PA). He disclosed,
“I was working with the king of comedy, Alibaba, as his personal assistant, and we used to travel everywhere. At the airport, people wanted to take pictures with Alibaba. There I was with my small bag, grabbing his phones. I didn’t see it coming, but I prayed for it. Then, it was just a prayer point backed with hard work,”
