Since Davido declared during an interview that he and WizKid were the two singers to triumph in the music industry before “new cats” like Burna Boy and others, the Internet has been particularly hot, especially in the Afrobeat arena.
Following the revelation, Davido’s cousin B-Red spoke candidly about how Burna Boy reacted when he first met the singer. Afrobeats musician and Davido cousin B-Red recently discussed how the Unavailable crooner first met Burna Boy in the early stages of their respective careers in an interview with Echo Room. This occurs amid the social media uproar caused by the 30 BG leader Davido’s remarks on the origins of the global afrobeats trend.
He claims that on a particular day, while he was with Wizkid, wiz asked him who the “new artist” who claimed to have the “baddest” (Hottest) song in the industry was. B-Red claimed that he informed wizkid about the upcoming success of his cousin “Davido” in the music industry; this was way before Burna had a hit song. Wizkid’s response to hearing Davido’s debut song, “Back When,” on which he collaborated with rapper Naeto C, according to B-Red, was that he wanted to know more about the singer, as he acknowledged his genius.
B-Red continued by mentioning that Davido had first seen Burna Boy during one of his visits to Port Harcourt, implying that Burna had been eager to meet them. There’ll be no lies here, though, as The African Giant had previously admitted that he was a fan of David. B-Red said that Burna had chased after their car and couldn’t contain his eagerness to see them.
