Britney Spears Says She Will ‘Never Return To The Music Industry’ Despite Circulating Rumors Of “New Album” In The Works

Britney Spears has recently addressed rumours that she is working on her 10th studio album with Charli XCX and Julia Michaels. The rumours started after a report by Page Six and US Sun. However, in a social media post, Britney refuted these rumours and confirmed that she is not working on a new album. While her last album, “Glory,” was released in 2016, Britney did collaborate with Elton John for the song “Hold Me Closer” in 2021. However, this was a one-time collaboration and should not be taken as a sign of her eagerness to return to the studio for any upcoming album release.

Britney shared a photo of artist Guido Reni’s painting, “Salome Bearing the Head of St. John the Baptist,” on Instagram on Wednesday, January 3, with a lengthy caption. This post and its caption have generated a lot of buzz among her fans and followers.

“Just so we’re clear most of the news is trash,”

“They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album … I will never return to the music industry !!!”

Spears continued in her post,

“When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people !!!”

“For those of you who have read my book, there’s loads that you don’t know about me … I’ve written over 20 songs for other people the past two years !!! I’m a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way !!! People are also saying MY BOOK WAS RELEASED WITHOUT MY APPROVAL ILLEGALLY and that’s far from the truth … have you read the news these days ??? I’m so LOVED and blessed !!!”
