Camille Vasquez, Who Represented Johnny Depp In His Defamation Trial, Will Represent Kanye West

One of the lawyers who assisted Johnny Depp in winning his landmark defamation case against Amber Heard, Camille Vasquez, is said to have been hired by Kanye West. The Yeezy CEO’s business affairs, including contracts and negotiations, will be managed by the Los Angeles-based lawyer, 38, and her firm, Brown Rudnick, according to TMZ.

West, who officially changed his name to Ye in October 2021, seems to be in need of Vasquez’s assistance as many of his partnerships are waning as a result of his divisive “White Lives Matter” T-shirts and anti-Semitic rants. Adidas stated earlier this month that their contract with the “Jesus Walks” rapper was “under review,” and just this week, Balenciaga severed all relations with him.

The attorney, however, blasted the accusations as “sexist” and “unethical.” Vasquez, 36, earned admiration from the public for her cross-examination of Heard, and her business eventually promoted her to partner as a result of the trial.

“We are delighted to welcome Camille to the partnership,” said William Baldiga, chairman and CEO of Brown Rudnick, in a press release in June.

“Historically, we have reserved this announcement for the end of our fiscal year. But Camille’s performance during the Johnny Depp trial proved to the world that she was ready to take this next step now. We are incredibly proud of her and look forward to what she will accomplish as our newest partner.”
