Coi Leray Lands Island Records Deal, Releases Mike-Will-Made-It-Produced New Single ‘Wanna Come Thru’

Rising rapper Coi Leray has recently announced that she has signed a new deal with Island Records. This comes after she inked a deal with Republic Records in 2019 and released several projects under their label. The 26-year-old rapper initially made waves in the music industry with a few indie hits, including “By Myself” and “Huddy.” She released the “EC2” EP to celebrate signing with Republic Records. Coi Leray also put out two solo albums under the label. In 2022, she released “Trendsetter,” followed by “Coi” in the previous year. These albums included hits like “Blick Blick” and “No More Parties,” which helped her gain more recognition in the industry.

The superstar R&B crooner Coi Leray released her latest track, “Wanna Come Thru,” produced by Mike Will Made It, to celebrate her signing with Island Records. She believes this song marks a new beginning for her and shows a promising 2024 ahead. Mike Will Made It, who has produced tracks for many notable artists such as Rae Sremmurd, Kendrick Lamar, Miley Cyrus, and Katy Perry, claimed that “Wanna Come Thru” is just the start of the work he has put in with Coi Leray.

As of now, Coi Leray has received nominations for the 2024 Grammy Awards for her track “Players” in the Best Rap Performance category and for her feature on David Guetta’s “Baby Don’t Hurt Me” alongside Anne-Marie in the Best Pop Dance Recording category.
