Davido Congratulates Rema For Being The Only Nigerian On The List Of America’s Top 5 Artists

Renowned Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, congratulated his fellow artist, Rema, on his recent success in the United States of America. Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ remix, which featured Selena Gomez, made history by being the first Nigerian song to spend a full year on the Billboard charts in the United States.

During a recent interview on UAE’s The Kris Fade Show, Davido expressed his surprise that the song not only retained its footing, but also rose into the Top 5 on the charts.

Davido stated that witnessing the global boom of Afrobeat is nothing short of amazing, and he takes great delight in seeing singers like Rema completely destroy it on the international stage. In related developments, Davido recently accused former NFF president Amaju Pinnick of stealing footballers’ money after an online spat about a $94k debt.

Amaju Pinnick had rebuked Davido for failing to appear at the Warri Again event, despite earning $94,600 and the promoters booking a private jet for him for $18,000. On his X page, the Unavailable crooner declared that he would not remain mute on the subject, and that no one could stop him from performing in Warri.

After a few hours, Davido took to Instagram and pledged not to return the money purportedly provided to him by Pinnick. Instead, he stated that he would double the donation and give it to a football charity.
