Davido’s “Fall” Hits Diamond Status In France

Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Davido’s song “Fall” is among many that helped bring Afrobeats to the West in the early years with its commercial success in the US, UK, and Europe,

According to recent events, Davido’s song “Fall” has been certified diamond by the French music certification organization SNEP, having surpassed 50,000,000 streams in France. The 2017 mega hit song was the sequel to “IF,” which kicked off Davido’s amazing run of songs that also featured the releases of “FIA” and “Like Dat.”

“Fall” achieved success in the UK and went on to become one of the first Afrobeats songs to be certified in the US, where it is currently certified platinum by the RIAA. Davido’s 2019 sophomore album “A Good Time” features a number of tracks, including the breakthrough hit produced by KDDO.

Owing in large part to its widespread appeal abroad, the song remains one of the most popular selections in his touring repertoire, with over 280 million views on YouTube. Davido’s “Fall” becomes the fifth Afrobeats song to receive a diamond certification in France, following Oxlade’s “Kulosa,” Burna Boy’s “Last Last,” Ayra Starr’s “Rush,” and Rema’s “Calm Down.”

More recently, the singer was among the winners at the 2024 NAACP Image Awards, which took place virtually on Monday.
