“Rush” By Ayra Starr Awarded The Diamond Certification In France
Ayra Starr has gained millions of listeners worldwide since breaking into the mainstream in 2019, making her one of the African music scene’s fastest-growing talents. She achieved enormous commercial success with her 2022 smash single “Rush,” which was included in the deluxe edition of her debut album “19 & Dangerous.”
After selling more than 500,000 units, the single has officially been awarded the SNEP’s Diamond certification in France. On September 11, 2023, a post on the SNEP’s official social media platforms published this news.
The song peaked at number one on TurnTable Top 100, the only cumulative chart for Nigeria. On Spotify, it has received over 240 million listens, making it one of the most streamed Afrobeats songs there. On YouTube, it has received 232 million views. Her solo entry on the UK Official Singles Chart made her the first female artist from Nigeria to do so.
The smash song has achieved success on a global scale, charting in France and the UK. A year ago, Rema, a fellow Mavin performer, achieved another significant milestone when his song “Calm Down” was recognized with a diamond certification in France.
Ayra is also now performing in North America as part of her “21: The World Tour,” which will end on September 19 in Vancouver. Then, starting on September 30, she will begin tours in Africa and Australia.
