Davido’s “Timeless” Has Been Named One Of Billboard’s Top 50 Best Albums Of 2023
Billboard’s “Top 50 Best Albums of 2023: Staff List” now includes Nigerian Afrobeats artist Davido’s album “Timeless.” The singer’s his latest studio hit album “Timeless,” is now being ranked at number thirty-nine on the prestigious chart.
Drake’s “For All the Dogs,” Metro Boomin’s “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” Lil Yachty’s “Let’s Start Here,” Doja Cat’s “Scarlet,” and many other recent hit projects songs were featured on the list.
Remarkably, “Timeless” is the only record from Africa included in this list of internationally popular and critically praised albums. The one album sitting at the top of the list is Olivia Rodrigo’s “Guts,” which already is a candidate for Album of the Year at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
Davido’s lengthy absence preceded the release of the blockbuster “Timeless,” which also added to the album’s hyped anticipation and enormous commercial success. Following its March 2023 release, the album was nominated for three Grammy Awards, including Best Global Album for its most recent release, “Timeless.”
The other two nominations are for Best Global Music Performance, for his song “Feel,” and Best African Performance, for his song “Unavailable.” While OBO readies himself to shut down three major Nigerian cities, he has also teased the impending release of the visuals to “Kante,” featuring the gorgeous Fave, a song off the same classic LP.
