Gunna Demands Young Thug’s Release in First Performance Since Prison Release

Since the start of the YSL RICO trial, Gunna has done his utmost to remove himself from the “snitching” claims. He made another attempt to do so by advocating for Young Thug’s release from prison. The “Drip Too Hard” rapper performed for the first time following his release from prison on Saturday (September 9) at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn to a sold-out New York audience.

Gunna gave Young Thug some love by flashing the phrase “Free Jeffery” across the stage during a particular segment of the performance. This was obviously a reference to Thug’s true name, Jeffery Williams.

Gunna has previously expressed loyalty for Young Thug in other contexts. The 30-year-old rapper posted a snapshot of himself and Thugga on his Instagram Story last month to celebrate the latter’s 32nd birthday. The picture depicts the residents of Georgia sitting next to one another inside a car as the ex-Rich Gang member is seen grinning.

Although they have collaborated frequently throughout the course of their careers, Gunna’s decision to withdraw from the publicized court case that the two musicians have been associated with since last year is said to have strained their friendship. Young Thug is still incarcerated as of right now, sadly.
