“Higher”: Another RIAA Certification For Tems

The Highly Talented Superstar is set to record another milestone as another single off her “For Broken Ears” EP looks set to receive Certification.

Oluwatemilade ‘Tems’ “Higher” has sold over 500,000 copies in the US, according to chart news source Chart Data, making it eligible for an RIAA plaque.

Recall, Tems released ‘Higher’ In 2020 as a single off her EP, ”For Broken Ears,” – An EP which was received with so much commendation from true music lovers.

And With “Higher,” now, the EP is producing its second RIAA gold record after the “Free Mind” gold certification in 2022.

Tems has garnered lots of international patronage since she rose to stardom in 2020 due to her efforts to Wizkid’s song “Essence.”

The sultry-and-sonorous vocalist has since gone on to have top-tier collaborations with international acts and brands. With her involvement in Future’s “Wait For U,” she became the first artist from Nigeria to make their debut at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. On the same Billboard Hot 100, her song “Free Mind” stayed for 21 weeks.

 

As one of the most RIAA-certified Nigerian musicians currently, she holds platinum certifications for the songs “Essence” and “Wait For U” and solo gold certificates for the songs “Free Mind” and now “Higher” too.

It indeed looks like Tems is just getting started. Kudos to another Afrobeat Star shining the light.
