Shallipopi was hit with a N200m lawsuit by veteran Edo musician Monday Igbinidu.

According to recent reports, Monday Edosomwan Igbinidu has hit popular singer Crown Uzama, well known as Shallipopi, with a N200 million copyright infringement lawsuit. We all saw this coming since everyone has been talking about the singer’s new song on social media.

We all know how severe copyright infringement cases are. Well, maybe not Shallipopi, because the singer is going to court for illegally using sampling the song “Ovonramwen” by Monday Igbinidu on the first track of his debut EP “Planet Pluto.”

Punch reports that the lawsuit was sent through Igbinidu’s lawyers, Chris Otasowie & Associates, on Tuesday, July 25. The veteran musician is demanding to be paid N200 million for the copyright infringement, as well as a public apology from the singer. Shallipopi is best known for the hits “Sharpiru” and “Elon Musk.” He has earned praise from top artists WizKid and Davido.
