Illbliss Discusses His Personal Journey In Preparation For His Upcoming Album

Illbliss, a Nigerian rapper and actor, recently talked about the process of creating his upcoming album and his personal experiences leading up to this point.

Illbliss, real name Tobechukwu Ejiofor, shared the cover and track listing for his new album, “Sideh Kai,” on social media. The album is expected to be released on February 24, 2024. In addition, Nigerian musicians Fave, Odumodublack, Made Kuti, Teni, Vector, Cobhams Asuquo, and numerous more are guest features on the new project.

Illbliss revealed in an interview with Channels News that his upcoming album will be his eighth and his most recent since 2020. When asked about the four years that had passed before the release of his new record, he explained that it was because of the birth of his daughter and his television career.

He also mentioned that his daughter was born prematurely at 25 weeks, during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. He claimed that at one point, it seemed as though God was telling him it was time to hang up his boots. The rapper stated that he believed he had contributed his fair share to the music industry, having released six albums and four EPs.

He was also questioned about how he has continued to be relevant since 2009 throughout the conversation. In response, he said that there had been significant changes in the music industry, and he was grateful to always be caught in middle of the transformation.
