Iyanya Reveals Astonishing Reason For His Date With Lady From Davido’s Concert
Iyanya, a well-known Nigerian artist, recently caused a stir on social media when it was disclosed that following his performance at Davido’s Timeless event, he went on a date with a young woman named Florence. Many people accused the artist of trying to “snatch” a woman who was already in a relationship after he even took her on a lunch date and boat cruise.
Iyanya attempted to clear the air and present his side of the story in a Twitter thread he started on Tuesday, May 2nd, in response to the barrage of abuse. He said that was why he took Florence out: she was going through a challenging period. She revealed to Iyanya that one of her close relatives had been diagnosed with cancer and was experiencing severe depression.
Iyanya reasoned that taking her out would lift her spirits and make her smile. He added that there were no hidden agendas and that the two had merely met aboard the boat. Iyanya, in the thread, also disclosed designer items he had bought his date, including a brand-new iPhone to support her influencer dreams. Finally, he noted that the date happened on the jetty, after which they both parted ways, though many still argue that there was an “after party.”
