Jay-Z’s Roc Nation And Italy’s Serie A Soccer League Sign Lucrative Sports Deal

Serie A, the top-tier soccer league in Italy, and Jay-Roc Z’s Nation Sports have entered a new “strategic partnership,” according to press reports. The agreement, which was made to expand the Italian league’s presence in North America, was completed and announced via Roc Nation’s social media accounts. The two organizations partnered to engage current and potential fans through digital content, marketing activations, and events to increase the league’s visibility in North America.

Since 2019, there has been cooperation between Roc Nation and Serie A. The organization signed an agreement with top Serie A team AC Milan to host an event to raise money for essential workers in 2020, at the height of the COVID pandemic. Alicia Keys and Kelly Rowland were just a couple of the performers at the DJ Khaled-hosted event. The entire sum was donated to charity. Later, a formal partnership was declared by the two.

Romelu Lukaku of Serie A’s Inter Milan is one of the top soccer players represented by Jay-Roc Z’s Nation. One of the most well-known players in Serie A, Lukaku, claimed to have received encouragement from the multi-Grammy winner to sign with Inter in an earlier interview with the Italian press. In addition, Roc Nation has spoken out against issues in Italian soccer, such as the pervasive racism directed at the league’s Black players. When Lukaku was subjected to racist monkey chants from opposing fans last season, Roc Nation Sports president Michael Yormark issued a statement.

“The Italian authorities must use this opportunity to tackle racism rather than punish the victim of the abuse. I am certain that the footballing world shares the same sentiment”

Speaking on the deal, Yormark said,

“We are super excited to help Serie A expand its brand throughout America while helping to develop meaningful commercial partnerships along with enhanced brand visibility that will lead to continued growth for one of the world’s premier football leagues.”

With legacy teams like AC and Inter Milan, Juventus, and Napoli, the former squad of Diego Maradona, Serie A has historically been regarded as one of the most competitive football leagues in the world. All 380 of the season’s games are broadcast live on Paramount+, which hosts Serie A in the United States.
