Joe Alwyn Breaks Down Why He And Taylor Swift Keep Their Romance Away From The Public Eye
Joe Alwyn is fully aware of the pretty veiled details about his relationship with singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, and it’s likely going to remain that way — at least according to the excerpts from his interview with Elle which was published last week.
Alwyn revealed to the magazine how baffled he was by the public’s insatiable thirst for more juice on their private life.
“It’s not really [because I] want to be guarded and private, it’s more a response to something else,” Alwyn said. “We live in a culture that is so increasingly intrusive. … The more you give — and frankly, even if you don’t give it — something will be taken.”
Swift, on the other hand, seems to be equally invested in maintaining their privacy. This is probably because her relationship with Alwyn allows her to feel like herself, like a regular, non-famous person in love — as she had explained to Paul McCartney during her interview with Rolling Stone back in 2020.
“I think that in knowing him and being in the relationship I am in now, I have definitely made decisions that have made my life feel more like a real life and less like just a storyline to be commented on,” she said.
