Joeboy Provides Free Buses For Lagos Commuters To Ease Post-Subsidy Removal Effects
To lessen the impact of the elimination of fuel subsidies, famous artist Joseph Akinwale, also known as Joeboy, has provided free danfo buses to Lagos residents for three days. He offered three buses to offer commuters free transportation to and from a set of locations surrounding the commercial metropolis.
On Tuesday, June 13, Joeboy announced the news on his official Twitter page along with images and a video of the buses, which had the name of his latest body of work, “Body and Soul.” The buses will travel for free for the next three days between 8 am and 5 pm between Iyana Oworo-Lekki/Jakande, Unilag Gate/Yaba, and Obanlende/Oshodi.
The ‘Baby’ singer claimed that the move resulted from his sincere wish to lessen the impact of the harsh economic situation brought on by the loss of fuel subsidies.
He wrote,
“I know the fuel subsidy p is hard on everyone right now so here’s my little way of helping. For the next 3 days, there will be FREE Body & Soul buses along the following routes between 8am and 5pm. Enjoy the ride, Love you guys?? Buses ready to go! Also, there will be adequate security to ensure the safety of all passengers boarding. Stay safe!”
