Kanye West Acquires $850K Titanium Dentures Patterned After James Bond Spy

Veteran US rapper, Kanye West, drew attention on Wednesday when he hopped on his Instagram page to show off new metallic teeth, which the Daily Mail reports are worth $850K.

West compared his new appearance in a follow-up post to the metal-mouthed James Bond villain Jaws. The antagonist made appearances in the films “The Spy Who Loved Me” (1977) and “Moonraker” (1979).

According to The Daily Mail, Dr. Thomas Connelly, who calls himself the “Father of Diamond Dentistry,” and cosmetic dentist Naoki Hayashi completely extracted West’s teeth and replaced them with custom-made titanium dentures.

Connelly, however, refuted that West had had his natural teeth extracted, telling Complex that his complete teeth were still in tact and healthy. Although West and Connelly appear pleased with their work, some ridiculed the Grammy winner on social media for his unusual dental treatment.

West has previously created his own teeth designs before this titanium invention. During an episode of “The Ellen Degeneres Show” in 2010, he stated that he had his bottom teeth extracted and replaced with diamonds. But he acknowledged that in order to keep his choppers in good condition, he needed to go to the dentist often.

He then revealed to Vanity Fair that he “didn’t feel like having to take them out all the time,” which is why he had his teeth extracted rather than getting a grill.
