Lay Zhang’s New Album Is Released Alongside A Thrilling Music Video
Lay of EXO released a new EP called “West” to mark his tenth birthday. Lay debuted the music video for the project’s lead single, “Veil,” five days ago, and the complete EP was made available on September 26. Five songs altogether on the EP showcase Lay’s consistent delivery of an intriguing fusion of sounds from other cultures in a way that is both distinctive and genuine to him.
“West” features excellent vocals, bouncy bops, and smooth contemporary hip-hop sounds. The lead single, “Veil,” is featured on the five songs and is available in both English and Mandarin. A visually stunning music video for the song was made available on September 21.
The dreamy nature of the song is excellently enhanced by the music video. The action opens in a busy street, where the erhu’s sounds may be heard. We are suddenly transported into a dream as the dancer enters the room and Mahjong pieces start to fly through the air. The artist then greets viewers by dancing energetically to the frantic trap music.
After a while, the global star physically “illuminates the room,” as the lighting and dance transform to more bright colors. The video’s dreamy elements persist as we cut between various landscapes, such as a well-lit city street and a tranquil forest, until the finale, when reality is restored.
