N.O.R.E Defends Drink Champs’ Refusal To Do Keith Murray Interview

Drink Champs was supposed to feature Keith Murray in January, but N.O.R.E. has revealed why they haven’t yet done so. This week, N.O.R.E. confessed that he and DJ EFN decided not to accept the Def Squad rapper’s invitation because they were concerned about his mental health.

N.O.R.E. announced that Murray would be appearing on Drink Champs in January in December, along with Cardi B, with whom he had recently had a fruitful conversation.

The cause of the worry stems from Murray’s participation in a number of impassioned interviews with The Art of Conversation, in which he described purported rendezvous with both Shawnna and Foxy Brown. While social media expressed concern for the mental health of the New York rapper, both musicians refuted Murray’s allegations. In addition, when Kanye West appeared on Drink Champs for an interview in October, the show quickly removed it due to the hate speech Ye was using.

Several fans flocked to N.O.R.E.’s comment area to ask where this sort of grace and reluctance was at the time. In an interview with Hot 97, N.O.R.E. expressed regret for having Ye on Drink Champs and apologized to “anybody that was hurt by Kanye’s words and actions” and “anybody who felt like I let them down.” Ye received criticism from Talib Kweli for not being a “good friend” to N.O.R.E. and exploiting his platform to promote his views.
