Paul Okoye Reacts To Rising Concerns Over Increasing Fuel Pump Prices; Terms It A “Shege-A-Thon”
Popular musician Paul Okoye, also known by his stage name Rudeboy, has responded as the national average price of gasoline rises to N617 per litre. On July 18th, NNPCL announced an increase in the petrol price at the pump from N539 per litre to N617 per litre, explaining that this was necessary to reflect current market conditions. In his reaction, Rudeboy expressed his concern over the impact of the price hike on the average Nigerian citizen, particularly those already struggling with the high cost of living. He called for more transparency and accountability from the government in managing the country’s resources to ensure a fair and sustainable pricing system for essential commodities like gasoline.
The seasoned performer used social media to express the harsh reality of the circumstance and to draw comparisons to the current “Thon” frenzy. He claims that there is currently a “Shege-A-Thon” among the populace.
The Award-winning singer and one-half of the famed P-Square previously shared his thoughts on how much it costs to live in Nigeria under the current political climate. The singer of “Reason With Me” claimed that the cost of living and food prices have increased in the nation recently. According to the singer, the rising cost of living and food prices have strained the average Nigerian’s budget. He emphasized that this increase has made it more challenging for many people to afford necessities and maintain their standard of living.
He warned Nigerians to prepare, claiming that the skyrocketing cost of living was just the beginning. The musician made this claim via his Twitter account, where He stated;
