Portable Cautions The EFCC Against Targeting Innocent Young People

Nigerian musician Portable, also known as Habeeb Okikiola, has sent a strong warning statement to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The musician, who has a reputation for speaking his mind, calls on the organization to stop trying to scare and detain innocent residents and youths in the name of fighting cybercrime.

Misconceptions about young people were brought to light by Portable, especially with reference to their engagement in fraudulent acts like internet fraud, which is frequently referred to as “Yahoo Yahoo” in Nigeria. The artist cautioned against the generalization that every successful young person is a Yahoo boy, emphasizing that not all young people interested in profitable companies were involved in cyber crime.

The artist claims that a lot of young people are genuinely working hard and trying to make ends meet by legal ways. Portable expressed his dissatisfaction with the law enforcement forces’ indiscriminate targeting of young Nigerians and advised the EFCC to use caution and judgment in its activities, abstaining from wrongly labeling every young person as a criminal.

Before this, Portable had shared a vintage interview video on his Instagram page, in which he revealed his worst fear in life. The performer shared his worries about unstable finances and the difficulties in the entertainment business.
