Portable Challenges Celebrities To Take Concrete Action For Mohbad

The Nigerian music community is still reeling from the tragic death of rising star Mohbad. The 27-year-old rapper was declared dead in Lagos last week under mysterious circumstances. Although the investigation is still ongoing, many fans and fellow artists believe that Mohbad’s former record label owner, Naira Marley, may have had something to do with his untimely death.

Following Mohbad’s death, many Nigerian celebrities took to social media to express their grief and call for justice. But in a cheeky Instagram post, the veteran Portable singer questioned their sincerity. Portable accused its colleagues of virtue signaling and challenged them to back up their words with concrete steps to achieve justice for Mohbad.

As one of the pioneers of the “Zazoo Zeh” movement embodied by Mohbad, Portable feels a responsibility to hold the industry accountable. Some social media users expressed shock at the deserted area of Ikorodu, Lagos State where Mohbad was buried.

One of the late singer’s in-laws criticized the singer’s family for choosing such a place, saying that he had a better right. Portable on Thursday urged aspiring artists to buy real estate in a veiled message about the Mohbad incident. He went on to brag about having several properties in the ‘trenches’ and on the mainland.
