Rebelde Reboots On Netflix After Almost Two Decades Break

Fans of the Mexican series Rebelde are in luck, as Netflix has just announced a reboot. The series had its last episode on Univision exactly fifteen years ago.

For those who have been clamouring for the return f the series, there’s reason to celebrate. In a post to social media, Netflix had shared s 30-second clip in Spanish and English of what is to come.

The original Rebelde, which detailed the lives of students in an elite boarding school (Elite Way School), had six main characters: Christian Chávez, Anahí, Dulce María, Maite Perroni, Alfonso “Poncho” Herrera, and Christopher von Uckermann.  They would link up later to form a band called RBD.

Expectedly, a lot has changed since the last episode, which aired in 2006. Estefanía Villarreal will continue her role as Celina Ferrer, only this time she’ll be the new principal at EWS. Interestingly, she’s also the one who wrote a letter announcing Rebelde reboot.

The exact date for the reboot of the series on Netflix has not been given. But then you can’t possibly miss it if you have a Netflix subscription. On official release, Rebelde reboot will be available for streaming on the Netflix website, as well as the Netflix app for android and iOS.
