Taylor Swift And Scooter Braun’s Legal Dispute To Be Adapted Into A Docuseries

The rivalry between American singer Taylor Swift and former manager Scooter Braun will be covered in a new documentary that releases in June.

Following the acquisition of Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Label Group by Braun’s Ithaca Holdings, which featured Swift’s early work, the singer has begun re-recording her first six studio albums. In June 2024, Discovery+ will launch a two-part documentary series called Taylor Swift Vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood.

The two-hour series will go into the controversy and the events leading up to Swift’s choice to rerecord. Rolling Stone reports that the show will examine fanbase culture and gender issues in the music business. Swift has made a strong statement regarding the conflict surrounding her masters, claiming that she was barred from bidding on the acquisition.

Swift has released the re-recordings of four of the six albums as “Taylor’s Version.” According to a description of the upcoming series, Braun, however, insists that Swift “refused to negotiate” and that she incited a public feud by turning her fans against him.

More recently, according to data from Luminate originally published by Billboard, Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” recorded 439,000 album-equivalent units to reclaim its top spot as the U.S. album in its second week of release.
