Rema And Burna Boy Take Home Wins At The 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards

The iHeartRadio Music Awards took place on Monday, April 1, 2024, and Nigerian sensations, Rema and Burna Boy, were among those who received awards.

Broadcast live from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on FOX, the annual awards show was hosted by Ludacris. During the program, the winners of the evening were revealed. 21 Savage, SZA, Jelly Roll, and Taylor Swift each had eight nominations, closely trailing Swift’s nine. Six nominations were made for Olivia Rodrigo.

The Icon Award for Cher, the Innovator Award for Beyoncé, and the iHeartRadio Landmark Awards for Green Day and TLC were among the special honors that were announced prior to the start of the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Only two Afrobeats artists took home honors that evening: Burna Boy and Rema.

Rema bagged the award for Best Collaboration for the remix of his smash hit, “Calm Down,” with Selena Gomez, while Burna took home the award for Best African Music Artist. K-pop celebrities also had a great night. A number of firsts were created when BTS members won the inaugural awards in recently established categories.

Regarding the number of nominations, Olivia Rodrigo received seven, Jelly Roll, SZA, and 21 Savage had eight, while Taylor Swift had the most with nine.
