Rema Honors Benin Kingdom’s Crown Prince

Nigerian music star, Rema, has returned to his Edo roots as seen in the new video that has been doing the rounds on social media lately.

The Crown Prince of the Benin Kingdom, Prince Ezelekahae Ewuare, was in Lagos on March 10, 2024, celebrating his birthday when Afrobeat superstar Rema paid him a visit. Since they are both from Benin, it was a particularly memorable occasion for them both.

Rema received accolades for his outstanding efforts in the music industry and was referred to as the “Son of the soil” by Prince Ezelekahae Ewuare during the visit. Rema’s extraordinary talent and diligence have made him a source of pride for the people of Benin Kingdom, the Crown Prince continued, telling him, “You are doing great work.”

The meeting gave the Crown Prince the chance to speak with one of Nigeria’s most gifted artists while also giving Rema a chance to express his respect and admiration for his heritage and culture.

In addition, Rema has always been a representative of the Edo culture. He faced a lot of criticism last year for his overly visual stage design at a show. In his defense, the singer claims to only be promoting his indigenous Edo culture, which he takes pride in.
