Remake Of 1980s Classic ‘Road House’ To Feature Post Malone

On February 13, Amazon Prime Video’s official X/Twitter account shared some character posters for the upcoming remake of Road House, starring Jake Gyllenhaal. The posters gave us a first look at rapper and singer Post Malone in the role of Carter. In the movie, Gyllenhaal plays Dalton, the character that made the late Patrick Swayze famous. In this version, Dalton is an ex-UFC fighter who takes a job in a roadhouse in the Florida Keys. In response to the posters, Gyllenhaal proudly took to his personal Instagram account to share a photo of himself with Post Malone.

He wrote in the caption,

“To say it was a pleasure working together is an understatement. Welcome to the #roadhouse @postmalone.”

Post Malone has already established himself as a talent in acting, having made cameos on the screens of several movies. He debuted in the action-comedy film Spenser Confidential in 2020, starring alongside Mark Wahlberg. He also appeared alongside Jason Statham in the 2021 action-thriller movie Wrath of Man. Additionally, he made a voice cameo in the 2018 movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, where his hit song ‘Sunflower’ with Swae Lee was prominently featured in the soundtrack.

On a separate note, it was recently announced that the highly anticipated Road House remake would be exclusively released on Amazon Prime Video. However, this decision has caused some controversy, with director Doug Liman expressing his disappointment in an open letter. While he respects the decision made by the streaming platform, Liman has decided not to attend the film’s premiere at the SXSW film festival in March. The movie is set to be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video on March 21.
