Snoop Dogg Has “Love & Respect” For Donald Trump; States “Pardon” As Reason
Snoop Dogg has again told his fans, and whoever cares to hear, where he stands in the forthcoming US elections. He recently reiterated his support for Donald Trump in an interview with The Times. In case you missed it, this isn’t the first time that he has shown this kind of support. In particular, Snoop made reference to one of the embattled former president’s final actions before he departed office in January 2021: the pardon of Michael “Harry-O” Harris, the co-founder of Death Row Records. Snoop Dogg thanked Donald Trump for pardoning Harris, stating that the former president’s actions significantly improved his life. Beyond this one incident, the artist has consistently shown gratitude for the controversial figure, especially as the elections are drawing near.
Snoop Dogg did not, however, always agree with Donald Trump. Snoop Dogg’s support for Donald Trump’s policies—especially the pardon—doesn’t justify his divisive views. It is crucial to remember that Snoop Dogg’s endorsement of Trump is a sudden change in his opinions and does not reflect how he felt about the president before, as he has also called him out when he felt he was being racist. In fact, Snoop Dogg has been vocal about his disappointment with Trump’s handling of racial issues in the past. Despite this, he believes that the pardon was a positive step towards criminal justice reform and has chosen to acknowledge and appreciate it.
