Spotify Hosts #SpotifyAfrobeats & #SpotifyPodcastsLagos To Honor Nigerian Creatives

At two immersive events named #SpotifyPodcastsLagos and #SpotifyAfrobeats on Thursday, October 12, and Friday, October 13, Spotify pulled together celebrities, podcasters, influencers, music executives, media personalities, and music enthusiasts.

Afrobeats’ rich history and notable accomplishments over the years were highlighted and celebrated at the events hosted at La Madison Place in Lekki, Lagos. The two-day festivities kicked off with a masterclass led by Spotify’s podcast manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, Ncebakazi Manzi.

The workshop offered podcast fans a captivating forum, delving deeply into the art of storytelling, investigating cutting-edge methods and perspectives, and showcasing Spotify’s dedication to enabling podcast producers.

The Association of African Podcasters and Voiceover Artists (APVA)’s Gwenevier Ehimen Lem led a fireside chat after the session, where a panel of industry professionals participated. These included Tony Doe from “Into the Podverse” and “Tony Doe Media,” Ayomide Tayo from “Loose Talk,” Dami Aros from “So Nigerian,” and Fay Fay, the creator of “Naija Podhub.”

Afterwards, guests were treated to fascinating and provocative live podcast sessions, which included A-list Nigerian content creators Joey Akan from “Afrobeats Intelligence” and Jola Ayeye and Feyikemi Abudu from the loved “I Said What I Said.”

Day 2 of the celebration kicked off with an electrifying atmosphere with performances by Shallipopi, Fave, Ruger, Bloody Civilian, and Sarz. Afrobeats fans showed up in droves, eager to take part in the celebrations of the evening.
