Spotify Initiates Text Prompt-Based AI-Generated Playlist Test

Spotify offers users a variety of options for finding music to listen to on its platform. It is now integrating a new artificial intelligence feature that uses text strings input by the user to automatically create playlists.

Spotify Premium users in the UK and Australia will be the first to have access to the beta version of the company’s new service, named AI Playlist. The new function, according to Spotify, allows you to “turn your most creative ideas into playlists.”

Spotify stated that requests unrelated to music, including current affairs or particular brands, will not yield results for AI Playlist. Furthermore, the corporation announced that it has put policies in place to prevent “offensive prompts.”

As per Spotify, AI Playlist is capable of generating suggestions that include references to various objects such as animals, activities, movie characters, colors, emoticons, and more. The business also stated that prompts “that contain a combination of genres, moods, artists or decades” will produce the “most successful” playlists.

Additionally, users have the option to edit and improve the playlists by providing more precise instructions to AI Playlist, such as “more pop” or “less upbeat.” Subscribers to its iOS and Android apps can initially access the AI Playlist beta in the United Kingdom and Australia.
