South Korean musician T.O.P, a former member of the K-pop boyband Big Bang, has confirmed his withdrawal from the group. This announcement comes a year after he left YG Entertainment, Big Bang’s long-time label. Despite his departure, T.O.P has been actively working on new solo music, as hinted in a recent video upload on his Instagram account.

The video, posted on May 29, shows T.O.P engaging with a music workstation, suggesting that he is currently crafting new solo tracks. This post sparked a flurry of questions from fans, leading to T.O.P’s confirmation of his departure from Big Bang. He stated, “I’ve already told you guys that I’m leaving and I’m now facing a new chapter in my life since last year.”

T.O.P’s departure from YG Entertainment in February 2022 was marked by his desire to expand his horizons beyond Big Bang. However, the agency had stated that T.O.P would participate in Big Bang’s activities whenever possible. After leaving the label, T.O.P expressed his happiness and relief over his decision on Instagram Stories.

Despite his withdrawal, T.O.P was part of Big Bang’s long-awaited return in April 2022 with ‘Still Life’, their first release in four years. He was also reportedly spotted filming a music video in Manhattan, New York in June 2022, hinting at a potential “large-scale comeback project”.

In a recent Instagram post, T.O.P shared a message stating, “Still making my albums.” This post has excited fans who are eagerly awaiting new music from the talented artist. As T.O.P embarks on this new chapter, fans are looking forward to his solo projects and the unique music he will bring to the table.
