The 2023 MTV EMAs Suspended Due To The Israel-Hamas Conflict

The 2023 EMAs would’ve typically aired on MTV in over 150 countries, as well as online via Pluto TV and Paramount+. Additionally, Coi Leray, David Guetta, Rema, the Kid Laroi, PinkPantheress, had also been billed to perform. However, voting for the awards, which kicked off earlier in the month, will still go on, and the winners have been assured to get their trophies, regardless.

Following a vicious attack by Hamas militants on Israeli citizens last week, Israel has angrily launched a relentless counteroffensive as payback, including a resource blockade that cuts off Gaza’s access to both water and power.

According to NBC News, a large number of about 1,300 Israelis have lost their lives and 3,300 more have been  thus far in the fighting. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, more than 2,200 Palestinians have died as a result of reprisal attacks, and close to 9,000 more have been hurt.

It has been disclosed that the artists who had been nominated for awards would still receive them.
