Tiwa Savage Discloses The Amount She Received For Her Very First Performance

The self-acclaimed queen of Afrobeats Tiwatope Savage, better known by her stage as Tiwa Savage, spoke plainly with her younger colleague Odumodublvck in a studio session about her early experiences as a budding musician in the business.

Tiwa Savage disclosed that she received a meager N50,000 for her debut performance in a video posted from their link-up on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. The musician, who was once affiliated to Don Jazzy’s Mavin label, grinned as she remembered the occasion and said it happened around the time of her 2010–2011 hit song Kele Kele Love.

Odumodublvck and the other colleagues in attendance laughed out loud at Tiwa Savage’s honest confession during the studio session.

Kele Kele Love was the lead single from Tiwa Savage’s first studio album, Once Upon a Time, and it was released on November 4, 2010 under Mavin Records and 323 Entertainment. She won the Best R&B Soul Song title at the 2011 Afrotainment Museke Online Music Awards, thanks to the song.

Tiwa Savage has gone a long way from her modest beginnings to become celebrated in the Nigerian music scene, winning numerous awards and experiencing incredible success. The single mother has maintained her groundedness despite her rise to fame, communicating her goals—such as owning a private jet—to her ever-supportive fans.
