Umu Obiligbo Shares “Legacy” Album With Fans

Umu Obiligbo, a prolific Nigerian duo that combines Afrobeats and highlife, has released their latest album, Legacy. Collaborations with Bracket, Beepee D Rapgod, and Bisa Kdei can be heard on the album’s fourteen tracks. Since the duet “Umu Obiligbo” gained prominence, highlife music has become increasingly popular in Nigeria, especially with the efforts of The Cavemen, who also seek to bring some attention to the genre. The musical group consisting of Chukwuemeka Akunwafor Obiligbo and Ifeanyi Okpuozor Obiligbo formed and has been making waves in Nigeria’s mainstream music industry since their rise from the eastern parts of the country. Despite rumours to the contrary, these two brothers are undoubtedly sprung from well-known highlife musician Chief Akunwafor Ajana Obiligbo, who is the source of their father’s musical heritage.

They gained recognition and affection by using their distinct voice type to create music in the Southeast, where they were previously well-liked. The most ridiculous vocal exercises and incredible highlife records may be summoned up. I Pray, On God, Owo Ni Koko, Oga-Police, Awele, and many more are among the songs they are known for. Alongside Flavour, Phyno, Davido, and Larry Gaia, they have worked with several other prominent Nigerian musicians.

The duo asked fans to name-drop their favourite songs from the album when they announced its release on Twitter. They expressed excitement about which songs resonated most with their fans and encouraged everyone to share their thoughts. The duo also promised to engage with the comments and discuss the creative process behind each track.
