Illbliss – Chukwu Ebuka Ft. Umu Obiligbo

The renowned indigenous rapper, Illbliss, has just released a new single “Chukwu Ebuka.” The multi-talented highlife duet Umu Obiligbo, whose melodic skills effortlessly melds with Illbliss’s poetic versatility, team up with the rapper for this new song.

The combination of Umu Obiligbo and Illbliss create a world of sound that is as full of variety as the artists themselves. “Chukwu Ebuka,” as the name implies, is a musical expression of thanksgiving and adoration that praises a divine deity.

As expected, Illbliss takes the lead with his distinctive flow, giving the song a powerful dose of braggadocio that accentuates the wealth, resolve, improvement and genius of his geng. Skitter, a gifted beatmaker, skillfully crafted “Chukwu Ebuka,” giving it the perfect canvas for the rapper to paint his colorful thankful lyrics.

The rhythm comes with a precise cadence that highlights Illbliss’ delivery and fosters a mutually beneficial relationship between his words and beat. This release also serves as Illbliss’ first official single for the year as a solo artist.

It seemed like “mission impossible” to sell Igbo rap to a cosmopolitan city like Lagos when rapper Illbliss released his first Igbo rap song, “Dat Ibo Boy,” back in 2008. However, he decided it was worth taking the risk to promote his roots through music. And with his brothers from the East, he is doing it again.
