Victony Claims Davido Is His Only Inspiration
Anthony Ebuka Victor, commonly known as Victony, is a Nigerian singer and composer who has identified his single musical inspiration. The ‘Soweto’ hit-maker claimed that award-winning Afrobeats musician David Adeleke aka Davido is his primary source of musical inspiration. Victony announced this on his own Twitter account and also gave the Omo Baba Olowo a shout-out.
He also made reference to Davido’s performance at the Qatar 2022 World Cup’s closing ceremony, claiming that the DMW leader inspires him to desire to perform at a future World Cup. When a social media user implied that Wizkid had affected Victony’s style, Victony responded by declaring that he would not tolerate anyone using him for their own gain.
This comes only two weeks after the budding sensation graced the cover of Prazzle Magazine’s Third Issue, titled “Resilience.” He is looking his best yet. The musician speaks to the journal about his persistent devotion to create music, despite the hardships he experiences in life, in the magazine session styled by Nonso Chilaka and photographed by Victor Edeh.
Following his appearance at the 2023 Dreamville festival in April, the singer is preparing to release the deluxe edition of his EP, “Outlaw,” which has now had over 400 million plays.
