YouTube Crosses 100M Subscribers For Music And Premium

As of January 2024, YouTube claims to have more than 100 million users for its Music and Premium services—including trial members.

This 20 million member rise in just over a year, according to Lyor Cohen, the company’s worldwide president of music, “showcases the robust performance of YouTube’s dual revenue streams, fuelled by advertising and subscriptions.”

With over 100 countries of accessibility, YouTube Premium gives users access to YouTube and YouTube Music without advertisements, background playback, and offline downloads. Exclusive after-parties allow for direct communication with artists.

Early access to advanced features, such as a conversational AI tool enabling viewer interaction without interfering with playing, is available to premium members. Requests or inquiries for relevant content are supported by this tool.

A generative AI tool that organized and summarized lengthy comment sections for simpler video chat catch-up was first made available to Premium members. Since its launch, YouTube Music—formerly known as Music Key and YouTube Red—has had a substantial metamorphosis, allowing users to effortlessly combine music streaming with both long-form and short-form films.

It also offers customers a personalized interface created just for music streaming. In the meantime, YouTube declared in December that YouTube Music and YouTube Premium would now be available in Ghana, Kenya, and Senegal.
