From 1999 until 2007, Wike served as the Obio Akpor Local Government Area’s Executive Chairman for two terms. On July 14, 2011, he was named Minister of State for Education. After Mrs. Ruqqayatu was fired, Wike was named the acting minister of education. However, he resigned before the end of his term to run for governor of Rivers State. In his place, Viola Onwuliri took over.
Beginning with His Excellency (Mrs.) Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike, Nyewom Wike’s family consists of his lovely wife and three beautiful children—Jazmyne, Joaquin, and Jordan.
His mother’s name is Mrs. Nlemanya Wike. She is married to reverend Nlemanya Wike. Unfortunately, there are no further details about Wike’s mother.
Wike’s father is Reverend Nlemanya Wike, a clergyman married to Mrs. Nlemanya Wike. And he is very much alive, overseeing his ministry amidst the turbulence his church has received.
Sadly, there are no details about the River’s State governor’s siblings.
Born on May 24, 1972, Eberechi Suzzette Wike (formerly Obuzor) judges the Rivers State High Court of Justice. She has served as the First Lady of Rivers State since May 29, 2015, and she is wed to the current governor, Ezenwo Wike. Wike was born Eberechi Suzzette Obuzor in the Rivers State town of Odiokwu, Ahoada West. She is a Christian, and her parents are Dr. and Mrs. Obuzor. She graduated with her LL.B. (Hons) from Rivers State University of Science and Technology in 1996.
Wike successfully applied to law school after graduating. In 1997, she received her Bachelor of Laws (B.L.). After being admitted to the Nigerian bar a year later, she eventually started practicing Law in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Wike has been given a Chevening Scholarship (U.K.). Additionally, she has an LL.M. in Law from the University of Sussex.
Jordan, Joaquin, and Jazmyne are the children of Nyesom Wike and his wife, Eberechi Wike. However, not much information is known about the kids as the governor, and his wife keeps their details out of the public’s eyes and ears.
Governor Nyesom Wike is an Ikwerre man. One of the Igbo subgroups in Rivers State is the Ikwerre, also called Iwhuruha in their native tongue. Together with the Ngwa, they make up the largest Igbo group. Ikwerre has been divided into seven groups known as “Ikwerre Essa” in traditional history. Elele, Isiokpo, Umuji, Emohua, Choba, Aluu Igwuruta, and Obio group make up this group. In their ethnographic study of the Igbo-speaking people of South Eastern Nigeria, Forde and Jones recognized this distinction. Ikwerreland has 92 oil wells total, with a daily crude production estimate of 100,000 barrels.
