Mr. Eazi Biography
Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr. Eazi, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and Entrepreneur. He is known to be the pioneer of the record label Banku Music which is a fusion of Ghanaian Highlife with elements of Nigerian Afro Beats music. Eazi started his career in Kumasi, Ghana, booking artists to perform at his then-college parties.
Mr. Eazi began recording music after recording a guest verse on the song “My Life,” which gained attention and became very popular in school (KNUST). He dropped his first mixtape, “About To Blow,” in 2013 and attained mainstream recognition with the release of his first big hit, “Skin Tight,” featuring Efya. Mr. Eazi is also known for several other musical projects, including “Life Is Eazi – Vol 1, Accra To Lagos”, and more.
His music has been described as being RnB-like but majorly Afro Beats. It is also said to be reminiscent of artists such as Beres Hammond and Gregory Isaacs. Mr. Eazi performed at the 2019 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival.

Early Life & Career
Mr. Eazi was born in Port Harcourt, the capital city of Rivers State, Nigeria. He is said to have grown up in an entrepreneurial home; his mother owned a small business while his father was a pilot. Eazi’s father established his own private aviation consulting practice.
Eazi briefly joined the choir while attending primary school in Lagos State, Nigeria. He listened to records his father played while having breakfast with the family. At 16, he moved to Kumasi, Ghana, to study Mechanical Engineering at The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He began recording music while at school.
He first contributed a guest verse on a song titled “My Life,” which became quite popular at the school. Mr. Eazi also established a party promotion company called Swagger Entertainment. It booked and promoted events at KNUST. He quit promoting being a promoter in 2014 when an invited artist did not show.
At 23, Eazi returned to Nigeria and started his e-commerce platform. He has stated (to The Guardian) that he briefly worked at Schlumberger. He has also listed his business ventures to include Gold mining, soft drinks import, food distribution, and more.
Mr. Eazi released his first mixtape, “About To Blow,” in 2013. It was recorded and released within one week. It featured the hit “Bankulize” with producer, Juls. In 2015, he released the Juls-produced “Skin Tight” featuring Efya. It became his first big hit.
In 2016, Eazi became affiliated with Wizkid’s Starboy Entertainment. He also released “Life Is Eazi, Vol. 1 – Accra To Lagos”, which he revealed sold 200,000 copies in pre-orders. It features the hit “Leg Over.” Mr. Eazi has since dropped several other hits and collaborated with major artists all over Africa and the world.

Oluwatosin Ajibade, aka Mr. Eazi, launched emPawa Africa in August 2019. Empawa is a talent incubation initiative started to nurture and support up-and-coming African artists. The emPawa initiative was supported by YouTube Music. Its first edition saw thirty musicians receive grants and mentorship to help push their music careers.
