Snoop Dogg’s Biography
American rapper Snoop Dogg, also known as Snoop Doggy Dogg and briefly as Snoop Lion, was born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. on October 20, 1971. His rise to stardom began in 1992 when he appeared on Dr. Dre’s first solo single, “Deep Cover,” and then on The Chronic, Dre’s first solo album. Since then, Broadus has sold over 35 million albums worldwide and over 23 million albums domestically. His accomplishments include 17 Grammy Award nominations, an American Music Award, and a Primetime Emmy Award.
He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame’s celebrity wing in March 2016, the evening before WrestleMania 32 in Arlington, Texas. He had made several appearances for the organization, including serving as the master of ceremonies during a match at WrestleMania XXIV. The Hollywood Walk of Fame honored Snoop Dogg with a star on November 19, 2018. In 2022, Snoop acquired Death Row Records from MNRK Music Group, formerly eOne Music.
Snoop Dogg remains relevant even though his album sales are far behind those of his heyday in the 1990s. He routinely earns eight figures per year thanks to his lucrative touring schedule, endorsement deals, and the sheer brand power of his image and personality.
He also performed during the Super Bowl 2022 Halftime Show. Cha-ching! Also, 35 million records by Snoop Dogg have been sold worldwide, with over 23 million of those sales taking place in this country. Top 10 hits include eleven Snoop Dogg songs.
Snoop Dogg has recently benefited from unconventional alliances including a cooking relationship with kitchen TV guru Martha Stewart on the VH1 show “Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party,” as well as consumer enterprises like a cannabis brand called Leafs By Snoop and a booze line known as Indoggo Gin. He registered the phrase “Snoop Doggs” as a federal trademark in December 2021 with the intent of using it to identify his allegedly exclusive brand of hot dogs.
Snoop Dogg’s mother, Beverly Broadus-Green, loves her life and avoids living in her son’s shadow despite being a parent to one of the biggest hip-hop stars in the world. Evangelist is how she presents herself. In addition to writing books, the woman occasionally gives sermons at charitable events.
She was a typical American girl before she became mother to a star. She was born Beverly Tate in McComb, Mississippi. At a relatively young age, she wed Vernell Varnado; however, following the birth of their son, they got divorced. Her first son was given a name when she later remarried Calvin Cordozar Broadus Sr. Unfortunately, the pair also split up.
As a result of his son Snoop Dogg’s meteoric rise to fame, Vernell Varnado caught the attention of a large audience. Interestingly, he refers to his famous son simply as “Snoop” rather than Cordazar, as that was his given name. There is no difference in the last names of a father and a son. As with his mother’s future marriage, the legendary rapper goes by “Broadus.”
Vernell brags about how youthful he appears in comparison to Snoop’s father in interviews. The man is actually in great shape, to be honest. He was deployed to Vietnam when he was 19 years old, where he served for several years, and the experience strengthened him.
During his time in high school, Snoop Dogg met Shante Taylor, the woman who would become his wife. Then the girl showed up at the football game where the rapper’s team was playing. He fell in love with her at first sight and made the decision to live his entire life with Shante.
On June 12, 1997, they exchanged vows. They got divorced on May 21, 2004, citing a “mutual misunderstanding,” but they got married again on January 12, 2008. Mrs. Broadus tried her hand at fashion designing a few years ago, and she was successful! She started her own fashion company called “Co Co Ri” after realizing that her T-shirts were in high demand. She also oversaw the career of The Lady of Rage, a female rapper. The next year, Shante established her own management company, “Boss Lady Entertainment”.
Snoop’s older maternal half-brother is Jerry Wesley Carter. Jerry was conceived by his mother Beverly through an affair with sailor Harold Carter. She was a single parent who brought up a boy. He is presently a Pomona, California resident. He works at United Steelworkers to support himself.
Beverly Broadus, an evangelist, also had a relationship with Bing Crosby Worthington Sr. As a result of their relationship, Snoop’s younger half-brother Bing Jr. was born. He has been close to his well-known uncle since he was a little child, and for many years he even acted as his manager. He then started his own record company.
That Doggfather has no sisters.
The first child of Cordozar Broadus and his ex-girlfriend Shante is named Corde Broadus. Three years after his birth, his parents were married. Corde expanded the Broadus family in 2015 by welcoming son Zion with his model-like fiancée Jessica Kyzer.
The second child of businesswoman Shante and rapper Snoop Dogg is Cordell Broadus. A few months before his parents’ legal union, he was born. He had an explosive debut during the Philipp Plein fashion show in 2017. A few months later, he agreed to his first modeling contract with the well-known leather goods company MCM Worldwide.
Cori Broadus was born on June 22, 1999, and is the only girl in Snoops and Shante’s family. Despite receiving a Lupus diagnosis as a young child, she battled the autoimmune condition and prevailed.
Snoop Dogg has made appearances in a number of video games, music videos, television shows, and movies, including the critically acclaimed cable television series The L Word and the Academy Award-winning drama Training Day. In addition, he has made appearances in documentaries about hip hop music and other topics. Reincarnated, a 2012 documentary, is about him. He also played the bar patron in an uncredited cameo in I Got the Hook Up.
