2023 Emmy Award Nominations Include Jay-Z, Tim Robinson, Daisy Jones & The Six, And Others

The nominations for the 2023 Emmy Awards have been revealed by the Television Academy. Jay-Z was nominated for co-directing Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime show, which was also nominated for four other awards, including Outstanding Music Direction and Outstanding Variety Special (Live). Tim Robinson received two nominations: one for his performance in I Think You Should Leave and another for his work as an executive producer on the Netflix drama.

Daisy Jones & the Six, largely based on Fleetwood Mac’s turbulent years, received nine awards, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series and Outstanding Music Supervision. The main event is slated for September 18, following the presentation of Creative Arts Emmys for technical achievements on September 9 and 10.

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story has received nine nominations, including one for Outstanding Television Movie and two for “Weird Al” Yankovic for the story and music and lyrics. (Ed Sheeran, Max Martin, and Foy Vance are also nominated for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for contributing “A Beautiful Game” to Ted Lasso.)

Moonage Daydream has five nominations, with Brett Morgan receiving three for directing, editing, and scripting the David Bowie film.  Swarm by Donald Glover received three nominations, including one for Glover’s writing. In addition, Kid Cudi’s Netflix show, Entergalactic, is nominated for Outstanding Animated Program.
