ABBA Celebrate 50th Anniversary Reissue Of ‘Waterloo’

Swedish pop band ABBA has announced a 50th-anniversary reissue of their legendary album ‘Waterloo’. This reissue is being released to commemorate 50 years since their international breakthrough in the Eurovision Song Contest. Fans and music lovers alike can relive and celebrate the iconic moment when the band members—Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid “Frida” Lyngstad—changed the world of pop music forever. The band’s electrifying performance at The Dome in Brighton on April 6, 1974, dressed in their signature shiny glam-rock costumes, was a defining moment in music history.

The ‘Waterloo’ anniversary reissue will be released on April 5 through Polar Music International and will feature a half-speed mastered 45RPM 2LP vinyl, along with a limited edition box set of the three vinyl singles originally released in 1974. The three singles are also available as separate picture disks. The reissue also includes a unique 10-inch vinyl disc featuring ‘Waterloo’ in four languages and a new line of anniversary apparel, taking you back to the ’70s.

The album’s tracklist includes some of ABBA’s most iconic songs, such as ‘Honey, Honey’, ‘Dance (While The Music Still Goes On)’, and ‘Hasta Mañana’. Notably, ‘Hasta Maana’ was a ballad that almost became ABBA’s Eurovision entry choice instead of the title track. Moreover, fans can celebrate the milestone and dance to ABBA’s timeless hits on the roof of London’s O2. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for fans to climb the landmark venue and swap their climbing shoes for dancing shoes. An ABBA silent disco will be held against the stunning backdrop of London’s skyline on April 4 for one night only. The ‘Waterloo’ anniversary reissue is a must-have for any ABBA fan to relive the iconic moment in pop music history. The event promises to be a fantastic opportunity for fans to celebrate and dance to ABBA’s timeless hits and experience the magic of the ’70s.
