ART X Lagos Returns For Its Eighth Edition

Leading West African international art festival ART X Lagos will have its eighth edition from November 2–5, 2023, with an intriguing multidisciplinary program titled “The Dialogue.”

The theme of the fair will make room for attendees to have conversations, share and uplift one another through art, as it concerns the many problems Nigeria faces and the political and socioeconomic issues plaguing much of Africa and beyond.

The discussion will focus on how the narrative can encourage individuals to view themselves in new light and encourage them to consider the world and our role in it in the present. A carefully chosen group of ten invited gallery exhibitors, each making a distinct contribution to the visual arts landscape in Africa and the Diaspora, will also be joining the conversation.

Gallerists, artists, and fairgoers will all develop close relationships as a result of this unique experience, which will allow gallerists and artists to fully realize their role as significant voices in the continuous narratives that are being written.

In addition, “Writing With…”, curated by Missla Libsekal, will feature as one of the special exhibitions of this year’s edition of ART X Lagos. It showcases the work of Bruce Onobrakpeya, a sculptor and printmaker who is considered a pioneering figure of modern art in Nigeria.
