Beyonce’s Father, Mathew Knowles’ Memoir To Be Made Into A Film

Mathew Knowles, the former manager of Destiny’s Child and father of Beyoncé, is getting ready for his life to be adapted into a movie.

Variety reports that Say Unkel Entertainment, a film production business, has decided to adapt Knowles’ 2017 memoir Racism From the Eyes of a Child into a feature film and a limited series. The movie is supposed to follow Knowles’ early years as a child growing up in Alabama during a period of racial unrest and civil rights struggle.

During this time, Knowles was repeatedly arrested and burned by a cattle prod. The movie will focus on the first half of the novel, where Knowles draws inspiration from civil rights icons such as Coretta Scott King, Albert Turner, Ralph Abernathy, and Martin Luther King Jr.

Compared to “The Mathew Knowles Story,” which had been hinted at in 2022 following Knowles’s sale of his Music World Entertainment Group to investment fund, APX Capital, the new concept seems pretty distinct. “The Mathew Knowles Story” was touted as an origin story akin to “King Richard,” centered around Knowles’ guidance of his daughters’ musical careers.

Furthermore, Knowles was the former manager for Destiny’s Child in addition to working with Chaka Khan, Earth, Wind & Fire, and helping with his younger daughter Solange’s career.
