Chike Gets A Plaque From TurnTable Charts For His Hit “Egwu” Featuring Mohbad

The Number 1 plaque has been given to Nigerian musician Chike for his hit song Egwu, which features the late Mohbad.

As previously reported, Chike had his first appearance at the top of the official singles chart in Nigeria when Egwu took the top spot on this week’s Official Nigeria Top 100.

On Thursday, January 25, 2024, TurnTable Charts honored Chike’s achievement on their official Instagram page. In the post, Chike is seen holding his plaque with pride, which stands for his esteemed position as Number 1 on the Nigerian Top 100 ranking.

Chike made a significant impact with the hit song Egwu, which featured the late Mohbad. Since its release in December 2023, the singer’s blend of Afrobeats, R&B, and Igbo traditional music in Egwu has become incredibly successful, particularly on social media, where it has been featured in over 400,000 TikTok videos.

In addition, in only one month, Egwu has racked up an astounding 5.9 million Spotify plays, cemented its status as a chart-topping hit. With songs from his two EPs, “Light” and “Blessed,” skyrocketing on streaming services, Mohbad’s music has seen a tremendous commercial rebirth since his dying in September 2023.

His commercial acclaim grows as a result of his successful collaboration with Chike, and he keeps releasing hits from the vast beyond.
